Resort Activities

The Cardinal Point Interpretive Center, located near the front desk, is the spot to learn about our offerings throughout your stay at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa. Discover activities you can enjoy right at our resort, from a night around the cozy campfire to meet-and-greets with our resident mascots. Additionally, make dining reservations at Cardinal Point for outlets throughout our resort. Advance reservations are recommended for all activities; stop by Cardinal Point or call (512) 308-4860 to reserve your spot.

  • Biking — Rent complimentary bicycles at Shady Grove and see Lost Pines from a different view. Stick to marked sidewalks, as no bikes are allowed on the McKinney Roughs Nature Park trails or golf course paths.
  • Bird-Watching — Keep your eyes toward the sky for more than 250 species of birds that fly through the park, including the cardinal, hummingbird, and bald eagle. Borrow binoculars from our Resort Reservations desk to spot them as they pass.

  • Hiking and Jogging Trails — Explore miles and miles of well-marked trails for hiking and jogging through the Lost Pines area.
  • Hooves and Horns — Throughout your stay, don’t forget to introduce yourself to our resident mascots. Our resort is known for its “Hooves and Horns” program, featuring two Texas longhorns, one American mustang, two miniature horses and two alpacas. Enjoy meet-and-greets, photo ops, and more at the Lost Pines Corral.
  • Hyatt Hidden Treasure Trek — For a $25 fee, our McKinney Roughs Nature Park guides will get you started on a GPS-assisted scavenger hunt throughout the resort as you seek clues and treasures.
  • Lock Your Love — Commemorate your love by affixing a lock to the chain-link fence by the Spa Django herb garden alongside your sweetheart. Bring your own lock, or purchase one at the spa.
  • Nature Tours and Self-Guided Hikes — Enjoy a complimentary self-guided hike on 18 miles of trails that crisscross through McKinney Roughs Nature Park. Keep your eyes peeled for armadillos and deer. Additionally, embark on an evening nature walk and experience the Twilight Trails for a $20 fee with a McKinney Roughs naturalist, where you’ll call for Barred Owls and learn to identify plants along the trail.
  • Pony Rides — Let your little ones from ages 2–10 years old enjoy a pony ride along the river for the cost of $50 per rider.
